Apr 19, 2018M., Sunday, April 15, 2018, at her home.Funeral services celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. In loving memory of Margaret, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund. She married Sylvan Roy “Sid” Brackett on March 31, 1979, in Newton, Illinois. Margaret worked at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, Illinois, for several years and was a caregiver to many. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Margaret enjoyed raising flowers and collecting chickens and roosters.Margaret is survived by her husband of 39 years, Sid Brackett of Newton; children, Becky (Shane) Johnson of Wheeler, David (Kathy) Dickerson of Robinson, Vickie Gillings of Ocala, Florida; Eric (Karen) Brackett of Newton, and Maria (Glenn) Beard of Ocala, Florida; daughter-in-law, Barb Dickerson of Robinson; grandchildren, Lori Johnson (special friend J.D. Finn), Tom (Julie) Dickerson, Jason (Ann) Dickerson, Wendy (Chet) Dobbins, Garrett (Sacha) Dickerson, Jana Dickerson (fiancé Albert Davis), Nicole Brackett, Glenn (Ashley) Beard, III, John “B.J.” Gillings, Brandon Beard, Caleb Gillings, Jake Johnson (special friend Hannah Atwood), Shelby Beard (fiancé Jordon Boley), Jordan Beard, Brittany Gillings and Clint (Brittany) Woodward; 19 great-grandchildren.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and son Steve Dickerson. ...
